Studio Madsen is known for our honest, pared back aesthetic. We take a warm, inviting, yet minimal approach to interior design.
Be it new construction, a remodel, or a room-by-room concept, we purposefully create space, play with scale, hone details and consider materiality. We then intentionally embed each room with layers of texture, found objects and bold choices to create depth and character.
In doing so, we consistently create beautifully considered homes. Homes that are relaxed and comfortable, yet resonate a subtle luxury. Homes that feel collected, elevated and are specifically tailored to the unique needs of each of our clients.
Meet Michelle Iggo - Owner & Creative Director
‘‘Growing up in the New Zealand countryside imbued in me a sincere love for simple, honest pleasures – the beauty of nature, comforts of home and a deep appreciation for quality.
With a Bachelor’s Degree in Art Theory and a Post Graduate Diploma in Interior Design, I spent several years working in New Zealand, before relocating to Singapore in 2011. There I began working at luxury hospitality firm, Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA), where I designed hotels for the likes of Four Seasons and Shangri-La. I then joined the HBA Residential team in 2015, which is where I honed my expertise - creating elegantly bespoke, thoroughly considered and well executed homes for the worlds’ elite.
With certainty, I credit my early career for instilling in me the importance of precision, detail and craft. But at heart, I continue to yearn for the simplicity and pared back aesthetics that I grew up with. Relaxed, yet refined. To achieve this, I take great pleasure in carefully curating and editing warm-minimalist homes.
Today, I live in Houston with my Danish husband, Martin, and our two young children – Ada and Jack. We love to travel, but we’re equally happy being at home. It’s where we spend most of our time – cooking together, entertaining and playing in the garden. But most of all, it’s where I take pleasure in shaping our home to reflect and grow with our family.
I would love to help you with yours.’’
